The NRP Group, a vertically integrated, premier multifamily developer, builder and manager, Willton Investment Management, a real estate investment firm specializing in family offices, and Greenbelt Mayor Emmett V. Jordan, today celebrated the grand opening of Motiva, a Transit-oriented, amenity-rich community of 354 upscale condominiums in the city of Greenbelt, Maryland.
“Willton Investment Management, the City of Greenbelt and the staff at Prince George’s County Park and Planning and Planning Committee have been great partners,” said Joe Torg, senior vice president of development at The NRP Group. “They were very keen to bring this project to fruition and ensure the delivery was successful. The meaningful communal contribution of citizens, locals and the city helped create a vital partnership. This collaboration really brought Motiva to life.”
Motiva marks the third successful lease in the Washington DC area for NRP Group’s Mid-Atlantic office and the second project in Prince George’s County for NRP Group and Willton Investment Management. The community is already over 80 percent occupied and property managers are actively seeking to fill the remaining units.
Located 14 miles northeast of Washington, DC, the city of Greenbelt is becoming increasingly attractive to people working at the nearby University of Maryland, adjacent Capital Office Park, the adjacent US District Courthouse, and employment nuclei in Silver Spring and New Carrollton. Motiva residents will benefit from the community’s proximity to the Greenbelt subway station and the new Purple Line, which connects Prince George’s County with Montgomery County and Bethesda. Additionally, Greenbelt Metro is right next to the Capital Beltway. Residents can also take advantage of a bike-sharing program for convenient transportation.
“Motiva experienced a quick lease due to demand for high-quality, walkable and transit-oriented communities in the Washington DC metro area,” said Josh Wooldridge, senior vice president of development at The NRP Group. “Upscale amenities coupled with easy commuting make Motiva ideal for working professionals.”
Designed to meet the local need for upscale rental options, Motiva offers four floors of high-end studio, pet-friendly one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with amenities like a resort-style pool and two-state, state-of-the-art fitness centers , business center, dog park and pet spa, community clubhouse and self-contained garage parking.
“If you think back to when the City of Greenbelt was first planned, the concept was all about creating place and the idea of giving people who live in close proximity access to their jobs, nearby recreational facilities and to provide schools. That’s something that this community really reflects,” said Emmett V. Jordan, Mayor of Greenbelt. “The NRP Group has the same legacy of creating places and building communities, and the spaces and amenities here embody the same values that were important to the city’s founders.”
Eagle Bank provided construction financing for Motiva.
