MISSISSAUGA, ON, March 11, 2022 /CNW/ – Maple Reinder announced today that the Maple Bird Joint Venture (MBJV), a collaborative entity of which Maple Reinder is managing partner, was awarded the “FIN2020-199P – Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) Team – for Wastewater Treatment Facility (WwTF) Upgrade Program” by the City of Barrie, canada largest and most comprehensive wastewater IPD project to date.

The use of the IPD delivery model is becoming increasingly popular in Canada’s infrastructure sector and is particularly well suited to projects that require a high level of trust and transparency between the owner and project partners and where multiple projects need to be carried out simultaneously.

The City of Barrie’s WwTF upgrade program will take approximately 8 years and includes an advanced nutrient removal solution for the existing facility, plans to expand the facility to 96 megaliters per day, an expansion in digester capacity, a peak flow Damping system and a new hydro substation and other critical features.

Maple Reinder is pleased to continue its legacy of flexibility in project delivery and open and transparent, “partner-based” approach to project delivery. We have extensive experience with this type of asset and this partner and are confident that this project will achieve the goals set by the City of Barrie,” he said Maple Reinders Vice President Major Projects, Ruben Scholtens. “We are excited to be working with the city and our partners to bring this world-class facility modernization to the City of Barrie on time and on budget.”
