People: Edward Morgan appointed CFO of United Construction Company

United Construction Company, a premier general contractor and structural builder serving Nevada’s industrial and commercial markets, has appointed Edward Morgan as Chief Financial Officer. CFO Brad Breach announced his retirement after 35 years of professional service with the company.

Morgan comes to UCC with several decades of accounting, financial, analytical, reporting and operational leadership experience in Colorado, Northern California and the Truckee/Tahoe area, where he has held the majority of these roles for residential and commercial real estate development companies.

Most recently, Morgan was Chief Operating Officer at Taylor Builders, one of the largest land developers in the Sacramento area. As COO, he established policies, procedures and controls to help a start-up grow into a large development company by leading the HR, administration, risk management and finance teams to success.

Prior to his career at Taylor Builders, Morgan was vice president and corporate controller at Mountainside Partners and East West Partners-Tahoe, where he secured government financings and construction loans, led accounting and project teams, and prepared annual business plans. With an established accounting and auditing career in Colorado and a Masters of Accountancy degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, Morgan is a finance veteran in the construction industry.

As CFO, Morgan will oversee the accounting and IT teams, corporate finance, employee benefits, contract and labor law, tax and other financial and human resources functions for United Construction and United Concrete Specialties. He will also lead organizational productivity initiatives, cost control efforts, risk management and strategic goals alongside Whittaker, Chief Executive Officer Michael Russell and Operations Manager Casey Gunther.
