Grove River machines, based in Richmond Hill, Georgia, just outside of Savannah, is now a National Equipment Dealers LLC (NED) Society.
On October 21, 2021, NED LLC completed the acquisition of Grove River Machinery, expanding the NED organization to the state of Georgia, where the company plans to continue growing in the future.
“With this merger, Grove River Machinery is opening a new and exciting chapter in our 20-year history. Our merger with NED will give us the opportunity to expand our Hyundai market share well beyond our previous capabilities,” said Dale Richbourg, former sales representative Manager at Grove River Machinery.
Grove River Legacy
Grove River was founded 20 years ago by Ken Richbourg primarily as a heavy machinery leasing and financing company, originally known as Grove River Leasing. Over the years, the company changed its name to Grove River Machinery as it evolved from a machinery finance business to a more traditional heavy machinery dealer.
“Building strong relationships and investing in our customers have always been our key to success over the years. Our founder, Ken Richbourg, has always believed in working with our customers and helping them grow,” said Richbourg.
Grove River Machinery successfully represented the Hyundai Line of products in the greater Savannah, Georgia area for 14 years. Ken Richbourg, the founder, passed away in late 2019 but his legacy was carried on through the efforts of his wife Jenette and nephew Dale Richbourg. Together they have expanded the company and supported their loyal Hyundai customer base with innovative products and reliable product support.
Merger, name change
Will Blackerby, vice president of the fleet for NED LLC, has assisted in the recent acquisition of Grove River Machinery over the past several months.
“Dale Richbourg is a proven sales professional in the industry who understands this is a relationship business. Meeting Dale during this merger only added to the value of this deal, and I couldn’t be happier to have Dale on the NED team . ” said Blackerby.
Grove River Machinery becomes NED’s fourteenth location and its first facility in the state of Georgia. The NED Savannah office growth plan includes a broader product offering. The branch will continue to represent Hyundai Construction Equipment, but will expand its range to include the following areas: bell articulated dump trucks, along with other products that will be added in the future.
“The Grove River acquisition continues NED’s track record of successfully building size, filling geographic gaps and expanding reach through attractively valued and funded M&A,” added Blackerby.
The new location in Savannah will be renamed from NED to NED LLC in accordance with NED’s current company-wide re-branding strategy.
âAs other Hyundai dealers, we have known the Richbourg family and Grove River Machinery for many years. The time is right and we are excited to add her to the NED family. We look forward to investing time and resources in Georgia to provide our customer base with Hyundai, Bell Trucks and other products, “said Mitch Nevins, CEO, National Equipment Dealers LLC.
