IBEW 2022: building blocks for the future | Press Releases | Asia

The built environment sector is changing the way it plans, builds and operates to remain competitive while addressing challenges such as climate change and labor shortages and keeping pace with the Singapore Green Plan 2030.

Cutting-edge technologies such as 3D scanning, IoT-enabled energy and building solutions, and Integrated Digital Delivery for projects along with insights and thought leaders are what attendees can expect at the International Built Environment Week (IBEW) conference and its BEX Asia trade exhibition.

IBEW will take place from September 5th to 9th, 2022 with the Tentpole IBEW Conference and BEX Asia from September 6th to 8th, 2022. Both events will take place in person at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

This year, BEX Asia is expected to showcase around 200 brands and solutions from over 20 countries and welcome more than 10,000 professionals and decision makers from Singapore, the region and beyond. It will showcase a wide range of solutions for the built environment, including HVAC, robotic systems, building materials, energy management, IoT sensors and digitalization.

Digitization solutions in particular are a strong focus of BEX Asia 2022, in line with the evolving needs of the built environment industry.

Mr. Yip Je Choong, Managing Director of RX Singapore, the organizer of BEX Asia 2022, said: “The pandemic has increased the need for the construction industry to accelerate digital transformation. As the region’s leading market intelligence platform for the industry, it is imperative that we serve as an accelerator for the industry to move towards a smarter and more sustainable future. As the built environment industry enters the upward cycle, we hope that BEX Asia 2022 will help unlock new opportunities and drive profitable business relationships.”

Digitization is the focus

This year’s BEX Asia comes as the built environment industry is rapidly adopting new digital technologies that have proven their worth over the past two years to improve business resilience and as part of Singapore’s roadmap for industry transformation the sector.

A powerful array of technology and digital companies such as Autodesk, Cupix and Hitachi Asia will showcase their latest technologies and solutions set to revolutionize the industry. Businesses that have embraced digital technologies have seen a return on their investment.

Autodesk will demonstrate its capabilities across the full Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) lifecycle – Digital Twin success for all phases: Plan, Design, Build, Operate. In a case study shared by Autodesk, TÜV SÜD was able to optimize productivity and building performance at the design stage when building its ASEAN headquarters here in Singapore.

By executing the structural design directly in Autodesk Revit, a BIM software, the project team was able to achieve a 70 percent time saving in creating and determine coordination. As a successful project result, TÜV SÜD delivered the planned Building Lifecycle Solutions and optimizations with the interdisciplinary use of Autodesk tools, resulting in a significant reduction in the calorific value and lighting costs of the facade, as well as energy savings.

Visitors can experience one of Korea’s most advanced solutions, CupixWorks – a 3D digital twin platform engineered to support every phase of the built world lifecycle. Powered by a third-generation Gamma artificial intelligence (AI) engine, CupixWorks enables anyone in AEC to accurately see 3D spatial context remotely from the office.

The CupixWorks solution consists of an easy-to-use mobile app and a unified desktop building intelligence platform that provides confidence and control over site quality, progress and risk management from anywhere. Clark Construction Group in the United States has benefited from using the solution. It has currently deployed the solution in over 17 projects since 2021.

Hitachi Asia is promoting its “Powering Good” message and showcasing its smart building solutions that pave the way for a greener and more resource-efficient built environment.

Other well-known names in the built environment that will be present at BEX Asia are Camfil Singapore, Daikin Airconditioning Singapore, Nippon Paint, Singapore Polytechnic, Wavin Singapore, Ministry of Clean, Procore Technologies and Schindler Lifts (Singapore).

Visitors can also take Singapore Polytechnic’s Digital Readiness Self-Assessment Survey to find out how their organization can leverage data and artificial intelligence to stay competitive. You can opt for a free personal detailed consultation. Other highlights of BEX Asia 2022 are technical seminars and networking events. Please visit https://www.bex-asia.com/ for more information.

The IBEW conference will continue to drive the conversation about cutting-edge building technologies. With an outstanding lineup of over 65 industry leaders and subject matter experts, the IBEW conference will draw on their expertise and views on the latest technologies and trends, covering three core pillars: sustainability and green economy, technology and innovation, and leadership and future growth. Speakers include:
