Trust index: fact check political advertising on the president’s spending plan, retirement

DETROIT – While Congress is still negotiating whether to pass President Joe Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure bill, some new political ads make big claims about what that means for retirement funds.

The ads are powered by PAC Common Sense Leadership Fun, a national group that spends $ 10 million across seven states. In Michigan, advertising is aimed at Democratic officials in temperate districts – such as Elissa Slotkin, Haley Stevens, and Dan Kildee.
