Clean energy comes in abundant with House Dems’ tax proposal

By Keith Goldberg (Sept. 14, 2021, 8:47 p.m. EDT) – A sweeping proposal from the US House of Representatives Tax Committee would accelerate clean energy development at an unprecedented pace.

Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee began marking the clean energy share of their $ 3.5 trillion budget equalization bill on Tuesday. The proposal that the legislature presented last Friday ticks almost every box on the industry’s wish list.

These include a longer runway for project developers and investors to receive tax credits, the much-anticipated eligibility for energy storage, hydrogen and power transmission, and a direct payment option for smaller developers in lieu of tax credits.
